Gremillion Appointed Dean of LSU School of Dentistry

Henry Gremillion, D.D.S., EVP of Clinical Affairs of the Dawson Academy, has been appointed Dean of the LSU School of Dentistry, succeeding Dr. Eric Hovland.

“We congratulate Henry on this exciting opportunity to return to his alma mater as Dean, and thank him for his contributions to the Dawson Academy.  We look forward to his continued relationship as an advisor to the Academy’s Dental Medicine curriculum track and as a guest faculty member”, said Joan Forrest, CEO of the Dawson Academy.  “We are excited about working with Henry and the LSU School of Dentistry as we advance our strategic initiative of supporting undergraduate dental education”, she added.

Dr. Gremillion stated, “In the process of developing an applied strategic plan for the Dawson Academy, it was recognized that the key principles on which predictable restorative dentistry can be achieved must be disseminated to our undergraduate programs.  Thus, the expansion of the educational process through interaction with schools and colleges of dentistry became an important strategic objective in the Academy’s plan. It is my hope that in my position as Dean at LSU, collaborative efforts between undergraduate dental education and the Dawson Academy will be fostered with the outcome being a deeper understanding of the true meaning of ‘physician of the masticatory system’.  I look forward to my continued interaction with the Academy and an enhanced future of dental education.”
